Working out with others...are there benefits?

Do you prefer to work out alone or with friends?

 

A workout can look like many different things.  A walk with a friend in the park, a yoga class with others, a group exercise class or even just working out along side familiar faces at your gym.

Are there benefits to working out with others you might wonder?  Yes, there definitely are.

  • When working out with others you might actually work harder.
  • If you have a set time to workout with friends it will keep you accountable.
  • Working out with others can inspire and motivate you to try new exercises!
  • Enhances your social life.
  • You may notice improvement in fitness levels.
  • Exercising alone and with others can reduce your overall stress levels.
  • Working out with others is more fun.  More Fun =You will want to do it more often!

Whether you like to workout alone or with others can change throughout your life.  However, it is important to recognize the benefits and if you haven't before, maybe now is the time to try working out with other like minded people, you will not only get a workout in but you might make a few new friends!
