Julie Solbak
Julie graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, and that foundation has shaped everything about how Just Fit and Just Move were built.
Her greatest passion is working with seniors and anyone navigating significantly limited mobility. As the team grows and more trainers take on more, Julie is intentional about where she shows up: with the clients who need a highly skilled, knowledgeable approach the most. That includes people living with Parkinson’s disease. Julie introduced the Parkinson’s program at Just Fit personally, and it’s a cause close to her heart.
She’ll be the first to tell you she was never an athlete. She spent years working out in gyms where she didn’t quite feel like she belonged, not knowing what to do, not feeling seen. That experience became the reason she built something different. Just Fit and Just Move were created for exactly that person: the one who walks through the door unsure, maybe a little nervous, wondering if this place is really for them. It is.
Feeling seen matters here. It’s why names matter here. Julie has made it a priority from day one, and it’s woven into everything the whole team does.
Outside the gym, you’ll find her with her nose in a book, surrounded by animals, or spending time with her three almost-grown kids. She’s an introvert at heart, but walk into Just Fit and you’d never know it. This place is home, and it shows.
